Emirates second A380 delivery date delayed

Emirates second Airbus A380 which was expected to be delivered in September this year is now looking like not being delivered until at least 20 October 2008. Parts and supply issues for this A380s internal outfitting is the unconfirmed cause of the delay.

 

 

This delivery delay sets back Emirates planned Dubai to New York (JFK) introduction.  An Emirates US spokesman has said the following "There may be a delay; we are awaiting further details from Dubai."  Emirates (Dubai) and Airbus are still to either officially confirm or deny this delivery delay.

 

 

Emirates is expected to continue using this routes existing Boeing 777-300ER until Emirates second Airbus A380 is commences operation on 26 October 2008, which is two days after (24 October 2008) Qantas’s first Airbus A380 will fly its second flight from Sydney to New York.

Emirates have grounded its one and only airbus A380 that is operated on its Dubai to New York flight, with a Boeing 777-300ER temporarily put on this route.
