Boeing launches the Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Boeing (NYSE: BA) today released to great fanfare the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the launch which had over 15,000 attendees on site at Boeings Everett Washington assembly factory, and millions via the internet broadcast of the launch. The 787 Dreamliner built on revolutionary technology which will reduce fuel consumption by 20% and greatly reduce take off and landing noise, is highly anticipated by major airlines for both the savings that the 787 Dreamliner introduces along with the additional services and comfort that airline will be able to provide to their customers.

 

The first flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is expected to take place in August or September after the installation of interiors, test equipment and airplane systems.

At present 47 customers have ordered a total of 677 Boeing 787 Dreamliners with a total value of US$98 Billion , the first 787 Dreamliner is expected to be delivered to Japanese Airline ANA not long after May 2008.
