American Airlines have announced an upgrade of their
business class seats and cabin, this upgrade will happen on its entire fleet of
Boeing 777 aircraft which total 47, with the fleet installation expected to
begin this fall and be completed by the end of 2007.
The business class configuration will be 2-3-2, and In
addition American Airlines have announced an upgrade to their first class cabin
which will consist of a 1-2-1 cabin and a true lie flat seat.

The features that you can expect in an American Airlines Boeing
777 Business seat and cabin will include:
Ergonomically-Advanced
Seating: Customizable seat configuration
via the Flagship Suite chair’s five independent motors.
Lie-Flat Comfort:
Flagship Suite bed configuration giving passengers a 76 inch long sleeping
configuration (Not fully flat), which includes a privacy divider.
Unique Move Forward
Seats: Ability to move seat forward up to 10 inches to give passengers
additional privacy.
Interlocking Tray
Tables: Customizable table configuration, one table drops down from seat
back, the other from the center console tables can be interlocked for a larger
work area or separated for additional space (for reading book, or as glass
holder).
Entertainment on
Demand: Seats will include a 10.6 inch tilting touch screen monitor and
Bose QuiteComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones. Passengers will have a
choice of 35 movies, 18 hours of pre recorded television, 50 music CDs and 15
games, all content will truly on demand, with the ability to pause, stop, fast
forward, and rewind, and may be available in different languages.
Center console power
points: Power Points will be
available in each center console.
Abundant Lighting: Light
mounted in the back of seat to illuminate work table.
