Singapore Airlines Considering all Business Class Cabin to the US

Word had it that Singapore Airlines (SIA) is considering combining their Singapore/Los Angeles and Singapore/New York services into a single cabin Business Class configuration.

These two routes are currently the only direct (non-stop) routes that Singapore Airlines run from Singapore to the U.S. and also includes an Executive Economy class, so it’s very interesting that SIA are considering combining the two routes and ditching Executive Economy.

If SIA do go ahead with their plans, the single service cabin is expected to go into operation in 2008.  So what will happen to the Executive Economy cabin? The Executive Economy service would be offered on SIAs routes to the U.S. that are not direct (include a transit stop).

The Singapore to U.S. route is considered a premium route which is predominantly flown by Business people & Executives, which is why this plan may just work in SIAs favour.

Expect more updates on this story from the Business Travel Guru in the near future.
