Jetstar’s 5 Cent 5000 Seat Sale

Jetstar 5 Cent 5000 Seat Sale - that right sold out in less than 1 hour

Jetstar 5 Cent 5000 Seat Sale: Has Jetstar and Australia gone mad, maybe not, Yes I was lucky enough to purchase two return tickets from Sydney to the Gold Coast for 5 cents each way per person. This was a total of 20 cents, adding Jetstar’s Credit Card surcharge brought the total to somewhere around $8.20, but who is counting : )

I was lucky enough to receive the Jetstar email right on 7:30pm, already knowing the sale would begin at 7pm the valid dates of travel and the destinations from Sydney I had already planned which date we would fly. I guess if I was unlucky enough to receive the email 20 minutes later I would have missed the deal.

I also managed to book for my wife’s friend and part of her family after placing my booking, see our friend has a family of 6, unfortunatly we found out quickly the maximum number of passengers per booking on this deal was 4, so It meant I had to try and book one of the adults and two of the children on one booking and the other adult and two children the other booking. Well guest what I only got one booking thru before Jetstar’s overloaded website collapsed. There was several times when I nearly had their second booking placed but only for the webpage to timeout at the credit card payment page. All might not be lost as Singapore’s Tiger Airways is about to enter the market, so we should be expecting more such sales as the one last night. When I see I will be sure to book the other half of our friends family their discount fare.

Anyway as I only ever use Qantas domestically this will be my first flight with Jetstar Domestic, my only experiences with Jetstar is StarClass on Jetstar International. So I am thinking I might be in for a rude shock, I will post my experiences here and in the forums.

Dear Jetstar,I have been trying to get a cheap ticket to Malaysia but there is none.We are 3 of us (2 adults 1 infant) and our budget is not much, just around $450-$550 return, we are going for 3.5 weeks only to show our new born baby to our ailing parents.Thinking of traveling early May and back around 30 May 2008.Due to our tight budget we hope Jetstar will try to help us fullfil our wish.I will like to convey my Thank You to Jetstar in advance for taking time to read our massage and considering helping us.Thanks once again and hope to hear from Jetstar soon with a very good news.

Hi Sorry Singh, but this blog and website i not operated by Jetstar. The post which I wrote and you commented on was discussing the Jetstar 5 cent sale that Jetstar ran late 2007. If you would like to contact Jetstar please try their contacts page, as follows: www.jetstar.com/.../contact-us.html

I would suggest signing up for Jetstar's JetMail subscription service to be notified of any new Jetstar specials, and hang in there, they are always releasing discount fares,
