    Best Airline Alliance

This Q might be a little subjective

But any which alliance is the best, in terms of return on money spent/miles earnt to award flights redeamed, also in terms of Quality of its member Airlines?

    Thanks

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

I am in two minds, I would have to say Star Alliance, for the quality of its members, they have Singapore Airlines Big Smile which I absoutly love, and are expanding their alliance very quickly. For return on money spent/miles earnt I have to say Oneworld because of American Airlines AAdvantage and their Platinum Challenge.

If you dont fly enough to reach OWS just sigin up for American Airlines Platinum Challenge, many people have been awarded AAdvantage Platinum OneWorld Sappire (OWS) with just one international full fare return trip.

I would have to agree with Kirks theory to a degree, the Star Alliance is expecting many more members soon, which basically gives you more earning options, and with members like Singapore Airlines you can't go wrong!

For me personally I am a big fan of Qantas but fly with both Star Alliance and Oneworld members and I am happy with the service and benefits of both.

For those that don't fly often the Oneworld alliance does have its merits, with AA's Platinum Challenge. Along with quality members such as Cathy Pacific and Qantas.

For maximum benefit choose an alliance that services the majority of routes that you fly, and fly with its members as much as possible.

My flight activity is not as much as some people I know, flying a maximum of 15 return flights a year, on a mixture of business and economy class, depending on the lenght of the flight, so i am earning over 250K points a year.

    How about you?

Good for you. I can't earn as much as the points your earning. It's kind of my wishful thinking.

My consecutive post. I really wonder if there are people visiting this forum. I only see a few, very very few.
