China Southern Airlines have announced that their Airbus A380 will be coming to Australia, to be operated on their Guangzhou to Sydney route One of the airlines 5 Airbus A380 aircraft will begin flying the route from 27 October 2013 replacing the Airbus A330-300 that currently operates on this route. “Australia remains our most important overseas market and the test bed for our global strategy,” China Southern executive vice president Chen Gang said. “Our Canton Route via Guangzhou is the new and exciting way for Australians to fly and we are absolutely thrilled that they will soon be able to stop over in this vibrant city with a free transit permit for up to 72 hours to try some authentic Cantonese Yum Cha, enjoy the local culture and shop ’til they drop,” Mr Chen said. In addition Melbourne and Sydney will see China Southern’s new A330-300 and A330-200 aircraft from October which has the airlines all new business class flatbeds in business along personal screens throughout. Early this month the airline introduced A330-223 aircraft on Brisbane and Perth routes. Australian and New Zealand passengers travelling to China via Guangzhou will soon be able to utilize visa free entry into the country.
We have been able to obtain exclusive first photos of China Southern Airlines A380 Interior Cabin, which includes a picture of their new First Class Suite, Business Class Seat and one of the on-board Bars. China Southern Airlines First Class Platinum Suite China Southern Airlines refers to their First Class Suite as the Platinum Suite, design wise they are full private suites similar to what Singapore Airlines & Emirates have put in First Class on in their Airbus A380s. First Class suites are each equipped with a 23” LCD screen which will make good use of the aircrafts IFE Video on demand system which can provide up to 1,200 on demand entertainment options, or 600 hours of entertainment. China Southern Airlines Business Class Seat As revealed in our article on the China Southern Airlines A380 Seat Map Business Class has a total of 70 seat laid out in an alternating 1-2-1 seating configuration, in addition to this we can reveal Business Class seats are equipped with 15.4” LCD screens China Southern Airlines A380 Bar Below is a picture of one of the three on board first/business class bars, it looks more like a self service bar, however we are waiting on more photos to see if the aircraft is configured with a bar similar to that found behind Business Class on Emirates A380. Based on the information we have received from China Southern Airlines and with reference to the China Southern Airlines A380 Seat Map which we also published today, this bar is located at the front of business class. Also based on the seat map and information we have received from CSA this area in front of Business Class has another Bar as well as an entertainment area with video entertainment and video game options. China Southern Airlines A380 Seat Map Diagram has been released by the airline and it reveals some interesting details about its internal cabin design and layout. The China Southern A380 Seat Map can be seen below (Click for a larger version) In First Class there are 8 private suites referred to as Platinum First Class Suites which are configured in a 1-2-1 seating configuration and are located at the front of the main deck. In our option the choice First Class Seats are either 1 A/K or 2 A/K because there is no suite next to them, this is if you are travelling on your own, however if you are travelling with a partner the middle 1 D/G or 2 D/G would be preferred. In Business Class there are 70 seats that are configured in an offset 1-2-1 seating configuration; Business Class is located at the front of the Aircraft. In Business Class the best seats are 11 A/K or 17 D/G however it should be noted 11 A/K is near what I suspect to be one of the bars, and 17 D/G is close to the galley. Will need to hear from some firsthand reports before There are 428 seats in China Southern Airlines Economy Class laid out in a 3-4-3 seating configuration. Economy is located both on the main deck (25 seats) behind First Class and also on the upper deck behind Business. The best seats in Economy Class look to be 31 A,C,H,K or failing these 32 A,B,C,H,J or K
China’s largest airline China Southern Airlines now has the honor of becoming the seventh airline in the world and first airline in China to put the Airbus A380 into commercial service, after the airlines maiden flight on the Beijing-Guangzhou Service earlier today. The China Southern A380 has a total of 506 seats with 8 Private First Class Suites which are located at the front of the lower deck, 70 Business Class Seats that are found at the front of the upper deck and 428 Economy Class Seats located both on the lower deck (behind First class) and upper deck (behind Business Class) Entertainment wise the China Southern Airbus A380 features a state of art Video on Demand IFE System that features 1200 on demand titles or 600 hours of entertainment. First Class suites feature 23 inch hi definition LCD screens. Mr. Si Xianmin , General Manager of China Southern Air Holding Company said: “we have confidence, capability and strength to achieve safe and effective operation of A380. The arrival of A380 will inevitably form a huge push strength, which will drive China Southern Airlines to speed up internationalization and provide a strong support for CSN to achieve its strategic development objects.” Mr. Tom Enders , the CEO of Airbus said: “In taking delivery of A380, China Southern Airlines has helped us to open the next chapter of our lasting partnership with the Chinese aviation industry. And to further strengthen the much wider and growing relationship between China and Europe.” China Southern Airlines intends to spread A380 love around china with this same aircraft being put into service on the Beijing – Pudong Shanghai Beijing service from 27-29 October 2011, after its initial Beijing-Guangzhou-Beijing service. China Southern Airlines expects to recieve its second Airbus A380 aircraft later this year, the airline has not yet announced if this aircraft will be put into service on another domestic route or on an international route.
China Southern A380 Exclusive First Photos Vertical Tail Plane Assembly – We have an exclusive here at the Business Travel Guru with the first photos of the vertical tail plane assembly on the China Southern A380 that is currently on the Airbus assembly line in Toulouse France. The China Southern A380 took place earlier this week on the 14 September 2010. We pressed our media contact in China Southern Airlines for more information in regard to the configuration and operational of the China Southern A380 however she was not able to reveal any more information at this stage.
